I love Autumn.  I love the change of the seasons - even though it's been too many years since I've lived in a climate that actually had a change of seasons, and I love Thanksgiving. I love gathering with family and friends, new and old.  For me, Autumn and Thanksgiving gives me a chance to pause and be thankful for all my blessings.  My cards feature stamps from the Gina K Designs stamp sets Autumn Splendor, Fall Foliage, Petals & Wings, and A Year of Borders.  I used GKD Pure Luxury card stock in Ivory, Dark Brown, Asparagus and Pumpkin Spice.  GKD Sun-Kissed Autumn and Sundance patterned paper packs, Copic markers, Capuccino twine from The Twinery, buttons, Spellbinders nestabilities dies in Oval, Scallop Oval, Square and Lacy Square.  Cuttlebug distressed stripe folder, Martha Stewart punches, Recollections gold embossing powder and little pearl embellishments.  I also used various techniques from emboss resist to heat embossing with gold EP. Ink is Memento in Tuxedo Black, Desert Sand and Rich Cocoa  I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Happy Harvest

You Make Everything So Much Nicer

Joann's to Discontinue Carrying Memento!!!

Attention all my Stamping & Crafting friends: I wrote to Joann's and Michael's asking if/when they will be carrying the new Memento inks - following is Joann's response. Not sure why they are discontinuing to carry Memento, but that will make it quite difficult for me to get the colors (& replacements) that I need and use almost exclusively. Not too happy about hearing this news:

Thank you for contacting Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Customer Service. We apologize for our delay in responding.

According to the buyers, we will not be carrying these new Tsukineko Memento ink pad colors. We are discontinuing carrying this line.

You may contact Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Customer Service via phone at 1-888-739-4120, Monday through Saturday, 9 am - 7 pm Eastern Time.

Thank you,

Janine

If you like Memento inks and shop at Joann's - please write them, tell them how much you use Memento in your stamping projects. Maybe they'll re-think this decision.  Other than shopping online - I only have Michaels and Joann's close by for my stamping/crafting needs, and the Michael's near me hasn't carried any Memento for a while.  Thanks and happy crafting! - Tracy

After a very hot and humid July, most of us are looking forward to a cool and colorful fall! When we think of fall, our minds swirl like we are surrounded by falling leaves and a crisp cool breeze in the air. Each host/hostess will have a card creation posted that is his/her representation of what fall means to them.

Even though I'm in South Florida where we really don't have a change of seasons, I still think of browns and oranges when I think of fall; must be from my childhood memories of autumn in New York.  As an avid fan of all things Gina K, and StampTV, I used the following for my cards:  The butterfly stamp and sentiment from Nature's Greetings StampTV Kit,  GKD Pure Luxury cardstock in Kraft, Sweet Mango, Tan Leather and Chocolate Brown.  DCWV champagne pearl CS embossed with Cuttlebug, Memento Inks in Tangelo and Rich Cocoa.  Recollections Fine Embossing Powder in white and black.  Copper brads, and Pop dots.  Here's another slightly different version:

I made these cards using two of my favorite techniques.  The butterfly was stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with the white & black EP.  I then "painted" with bleach within the wings to create a nice effect on the paper.  To tone down the shiny cardstock, I sponged some ink to the raised surface.  Finishing touches using some copper brads in the corners and pop dots to raise the focal images.

LET'S GET HOPPING.....

Hi everyone!  Thanks for playing along in this new blog hop!  The Blog Hop with Sean & Regina is featuring cards and sentiments celebrating the Christmas/Winter season! Most of us are going through extreme heat right now and we are looking for some relief!  When I think of relief, I think of a crisp winter’s day (Florida style which means temps in the low 70’s instead of 90’s) watching the snow falling (wait, snow falling? Not down here!) and watching the neighborhood children outside playing and laughing.  I’m starting to cool just thinking about it (and looking forward to turning the A/C off for at least a day or two)!!

Anyhoo, we have some amazing creations for you to see and what's even better is that there are goodies you can win!

Here are the items I used for this card:

Summer Breeze

Well, we had Tropical Storm Debbie move through the Gulf which presented us with 3 straight days of rain! So what else would any crafter do?  Well - craft a bunch of cards this weekend LOL! Hope you enjoy these.  All stamps and cardstock are from Gina K Designs (StampTV).  DP is from My Mind's Eye, Memento ink, Copic & Bic markers - oh, and yes - tried colored pencils with OMS for smoothing - see the Dream Big card.  Very easy technique; loved it.

Mehndi Wishes - Stamp set from StampTV

I had to try a favorite technique again with the Mehndi Wishes stamp set - paper bleaching with clorox.  I also added ink to my cuttlebug Paisley folder to create the DP that I thought coordinated beautifully with the stamp. I did 2 different designs - mostly because I inked on each side of the folder to see how different the effects would be.  I prefer design #1 because after I ran the folder through the cuttlebug, I didn't like the recessed parts being inked, so I flipped the paper over and then lightly added ink (direct to paper) to the raised side.  Following are the items I used to make these cards:
Mehndi Wishes stamp set by Rupha Svede from StampTV
GKD Pure Luxury cardstock: 120# heavy weight in ivory, 80# layering weight in ivory, Black Onyx, and Lipstick Red
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Tim Holtz Distressed ink in Fired Brick
Cuttlebug Paisley embossing folder
Tonic corner punch, and Recollections brads and ebony detail embossing powder

Christmas Presents - Card Set

Is there a Crafter's Anonymous Group? I think there should be because card-making, crafting and scrapbooking has become more than my new obsession - I'm hooked - can't pass up a sale on anything crafty and have become a compulsive coupon hoarder and internet surfer looking for those great deals and sales! Decided to make a card set for some good friends for Christmas. Gave me a chance to really play around with my Gina K Designs stamps and stamp kits that I treated myself to for Christmas. I primarily used the Nature's Greetings Stamp Kit and all the lovely stamps, papers and techniques (featured in the DVD that came with the kit), but I also used the "You Go Girl" stamp set - I just love the sayings in there. I will leave you with this quote: "Always be a first-rate version of yourself instead of a second-rate version of someone else." - Judy Garland Hope you like the card set...
